Ben first started diving in 1997 while he was an undergraduate at UTA.  He "grew up" with University SCUBA, completing all of the NAUI progression to Instructor under the tutelage of Chas Walts.

Ben has traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and Central America in search of "the perfect dive".  Some of the destinations visited include Belize, Honduras, Curacao, Bonaire, Cozumel, Texas Flower Gardens, Florida, and Southern California.  He has been to Palau, and is working on a trip to Socorro Island to dive with Great White Sharks.  The dive operator will not allow dives without a shark cage, but he is working on convincing them to allow it.

When not diving for fun, Ben can be found doing one of two jobs (yes, he has TWO full time jobs, not counting being a dad).  He is a physician assistant working in geriatrics/internal medicine, and he is a firefighter/rescue diver/swift water technician for the City of Fort Worth Fire Department.

Other fun facts:  Ben is a 1st Dan blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do and is working towards his 2nd Dan.  He is currently looking forward to earning his skydiving "A" license and starting training for his private pilots license.
